Daiya could hear the canine visitor before she saw her; she stalked from behind a low bush at the edge of the camp, its light brown colored head peeking with curiosity. This wasn't the first visit the little fennec paid to their encampment; in fact, to her great surprise, it has been a whole week that this particular one followed them around the Hinterlands.
Daiya smiled, continuing her work on the nearly boiling stew. She knew it will come closer to demand her affection, when it grows a little hungrier.
Solas, who sat beside her as silent company, noticed the fennec as well.
"Strange. Do they usually behave like this? ", he asked quietl

Two months has passed since the Inquisition was announced.
Two months of never-ending efforts, of infinite waves of both bureaucracy and enemies. It made Daiya's temples throb, her eyes heavy-lidded with weariness.
This evening was blissfully different. It was calm, sitting by the campfire in the serene surroundings of the hinterlands, cool breeze caressing her face; Solas's quiet presence beside her was countered by the joyful boasting of Varric and Cassandra's loud objections to his new wild tale, and the ambiance filled her with a fuzzy warmness of odd familiarity. Daiya had to admit, her new-found companions were growing on her: Varr

Envy's blitz attempt to recapture Daiya failed.
Not miserably though; while no physical injuries were inflected, she was still troubled the following days.
Dorian tried, together with Bull, Cassandra and Varric, to keep their mutual friend's spirit cheered without outrageously intoxicating her or letting her spend what little leisure time she had at the small shooting range, burning her melancholy away with creating new warts on her delicate fingers.

The Herald's request surprised him.
With the breach sealed and the immediate danger on her life passed, Daiya voiced her plea:
"I want you to teach me", her eyes bright with hunger, "anything you can share is welcomed".
When Solas asked her, rather sarcastically, what subjects specifically – as he held knowledge in a number of fields - she seemed too determined to mind his tone.
"Tell me about spirits, the fade and the veil…the breach. Tell me about magic".
He didn't know what to make of it, at first. She was no mage, and typically non-magic wielders couldn't grasp such intricate concepts. Yet, she demonstrated a frantic

Solas arched his brow as he watched Daiya's face turning red with… He couldn't put his finger on the exact emotion; it was a mush of the overwhelming guilt already present with embarrassment and anger – as she was caught doing something she shouldn't do.
Keeper Deshanna approached them, her long robes soaked with blood, she closed the distance from the camp swiftly. Fury emanating not only from her severe expression, but also in waves of magical heat.

"Now, tell me. What is your purpose here? Who is after the Inquisitor?".
The demon locked her gaze on him, fear embedded with defiance reflected in her black, endless-pit like eyes, "He has no name of importance to you".
Pushing the blade more firmly to her neck, she hissed "Wait! Wait… can't we strike a deal, perhaps?"
His eyes darkened with fury. Solas felt as he have delayed too long already, however, any information could poten

She was ever so quiet on the voyage back to Skyhold, but at first he inclined to attach it to the battle in Adamant fortress and the fade, a hard fight indeed, that took a heavy tool of life. It was a bright morning.
'Wonderful for our journey today', Daiya thought, looking upon Skyhold's wild courtyard.
She looked up to her travel companions: Cole and Iron Bull. Cole, as usual, seemed busy listening to the hurt; there were still many, after the endeavor to Skyhold and the destruction of Haven. Bull, on the other hand, was already anxious to get on the way.
"Hey boss", he turned to her, "Could you check on Solas? He is running late".
Daiya nodded, rushing inside through the throne room, she tried to avoid conversations with the early rising nobles with a simple and polite nod or a smile.

Daiya jumped from her dream, sitting up. She raised her hand towards her face, gently touching her lips, still thrilled by the kiss with Solas. Even if just a dream, discovering her feelings were mutual, both scared and blessed her. And was it just a dream? How could it not be a dream? Is such a feat even possible?
She looked around, as it suddenly occurred to her, she had not even a single clue to how she got to her room. Or her bed.
Rays of mid-morning sunlight blinded her for a moment. Shielding her eyes, she tried to make sense of what happened.

Inquisitor Daiya Lavellan stormed through her chambers, knocking down a chair and half the books on her work-table. Glancing momentarily to her balcony, inspecting the last rays of sunshine, she cursed her bad sense of timing. She hated being late.
Grabbing half a dozen books neatly ordered, she dashed with long hunter-strides across the room and down to the library. As a result from recent events, ranging from the unknown magical mark on her hand to the mage darkspawn calling himself "Corypheus", Daiya was determined to learn more about magic.
